In 1880 Fumiyuki Noda edited a three-volume picture book entitled Banshoku Zushiki (i.e., Drawings for All Artisans). Volume one included the forty pages of flower and (or) bird pictures shown in this gallery. Click on a picture to enlarge it. The anonymous artist drew and colored the flowers and birds only semi-accurately presumably because the drawings were only intended to provide artisans with ideas for decorating their consumer goods.
